Personal Information:

Heinrich Erdmann was a serving member of the Kriegsmarine during World War II and managed to attain the rank of Korvettenkapitän and went on to command the following T8 and Z30

Heinrich Erdmann joined Reichsmarine as a Seekadett on April 1927 and went to the naval school in Mürwik and continued his training on board light cruiser Berlin during this time, he was promoted to the rank of Leutnant zur See.

At the outbreak of the Second World War Heinrich Erdmann was the commander of the torpedo boat T8 in October 1941 Heinrich Erdmann was in command of the 2nd torpedo flotilla which participated in the operation channel dash (codenamed Operation Cerberus by the Germans) in which Scharnhorst, Gneisenau and Prinz Eugen fled to safer waters.

Heinrich Erdmann was transferred to the destroyer Z30 April 1945, which he commanded until May 1945.

After the war Heinrich Erdmann joined the Bundesmarine as a Fregattenkapitän.
