Personal Information:

Karl Hoffmann was born on 26 October 1895 in Triest, Austria-Hungary (Österreich-Ungarn) and was a serving member of the Kriegsmarine during World War II and managed to attain the rank of Konteradmiral and went on to command the following T5 and Falke.

Karl Hoffmann joined Kaiserliche Marine as a Seekadett on 2 October 1915 and went to the naval school in Mürwik and continued his training on board heavy cruiser Freya during this time, he was promoted to the rank of Fähnrich zur See.

Karl Hoffmann was then given his own command the torpedo boat T158 on 26 September 1927 until 24 September 1928. Karl Hoffmann was then transferred to the torpedo boat, T196 on 25 September 1928 until 25 September 1931, 9 years later Karl Hoffmann was given command of torpedo boat T5, on March 1940, until May 1940 he was then transferred to the torpedo boat Falke on December 1941 until October 1942.
